As part of our Earth Day activities in giving back to the planet and community, Sustainable Staffing, Inc. took part in the 2022 Crystal Lake Community Clean-up Day.  We loaded up on Saturday morning and spent the day cleaning up Veteran’s Acres Park along side one of the local Boy Scout Troops.

The day started with all volunteers enjoying free donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate for breakfast. Immediately following was the distribution of garbage bags, gloves, and vests. We were then off to work!

Crystal Lake Community Clean-Up Day is an annual event located across various park locations. It is presented in partnership by the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Crystal Lake Park District. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon with a Hot Dog Lunch at McCormick Park for all volunteers.

Running concurrent with the event was free document shredding hosted by AMS Store & Shred and a prescription drug take back was running from 9 a.m. to noon hosted by the Crystal Lake Police Department, both at the McCormick Park location.

It was a great day!  The sun was shining, it was nice and warm and now, the park has never looked better!
