Reporting to the Production Supervisor, key in assisting with meeting the department’s goals by performing machine set-up, maintaining quality standards, meeting daily production targets, and troubleshooting equipment when required.
Important: This is a full-time position with a 5 day work schedule that requires overtime. This is for a 2nd or 3rd shift position, however training will be on 1st shift, 8am to 4pm.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Machine Operator is responsible for running machine that draws large diameter wire.
Responsible for coil handling which involves removing coils from skids, loading coals to the payoff, and measuring gauge and width with measuring devices.
Machine operator is responsible for adhering to safety requirements, quality parameters and in-process checks.
Make mechanical adjustments as needed.
Maintains a clean work area.
Operate lifting devices as trained.
High School diploma or GED preferred but not required
At least 1-3+ years of previous manufacturing experience required
Experience with performing multiple tasks
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work instructions
Ability to understand and perform basic math working
Must have some mechanical interest and aptitude
Must have the ability to multi-task and be detail oriented Interest in developing a craftsmanship career Technical training is preferred but not required Experience in a metals industrial setting preferred but not required Experience operating an Annealing machine preferred but not required Ability to work in extreme temperatures
Ability to work at a fast pace
Ability to be on feet all day and on the move Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, not repetitively
